Live Map

Platypus SMP has a live 3D world map powered by BlueMap. You can view the entire server world in your browser - including player locations, town borders, and terrain - in real time.

Accessing the Map​

Open the map in your browser:

👉 map.platypussmp.net

No login required - just open it and start exploring.

Map Features​

3D View​

BlueMap renders the world in full 3D. You can:

  • Rotate the view by right-clicking and dragging
  • Zoom in and out with the scroll wheel
  • Pan the map by left-clicking and dragging

Worlds​

Use the world selector on the left side of the map to switch between:

  • Overworld - the main survival world
  • Nether - the nether dimension
  • The End - the end dimension
  • Resource World - a separate world for mining (if enabled)

Player Markers​

Online players appear on the map as markers. Click a player's marker to see their name and exact location.

Players can choose to hide themselves from the map using /dynmap hide if available, though not all servers enable this.

Town Borders​

If Towny integration is enabled with BlueMap, you can see town claim boundaries drawn on the map. This makes it easy to:

  • Find where towns are located
  • Identify unclaimed land for settling
  • Explore the server's communities

Tips​

  • Use the map to plan your base location - find unclaimed land away from existing towns
  • Check the map to see where other players are active before exploring
  • The map updates in near-real-time, so it's a great way to watch the server come to life
  • Bookmark map.platypussmp.net for quick access

Mobile​

BlueMap works in mobile browsers. The controls are touch-friendly:

  • Pinch to zoom
  • Drag to pan
  • Two-finger rotate to change the view angle
